Kinder Morgan has a far better spill record, i think, haven't studied it closely [but somebody better be doing so] ... corporate culture counts for a lot

One thing Enbridge did, was make up a computer graphics video and put it on their website, nice calm sunny day in big wide Douglas Channel with a cute little tanker putt-putting along nice and neat ... well i have been all over this coast and let me tell you - Douglas Channel is neither twelve miles wide nor straight, and they don't make oil tankers forty feet long either ... i thought right there, you sleazy deceiving bstds, that's it for you, i've always seen pipeline to tidewater as important for the oilsands, but between your record of carelessness and your cheap attempts at deception, you're absolutely not the ones to build or operate it

No matter who operated up Kitimat way, they're still faced with Hecate Strait ... Rupert has a far superior harbour and approaches, best in the province, but it would mean running pipe down the Skeena ... Haro Straits and Juan de Fuca down south are tricky, bit crowded at times, but wide and deep in approaches, nothing like Douglas Channel

I agree with your other post, there should ideally be pipe both east and west ... no serious proposal has been made for one west though, so far, and in putting one together, proponents might consider opening their minds to the fact that there really is major risk in the venture

[edit] - bb.to - agree with teevee on the point that it would be insane to hand over Blackberry security to the chinese, not gonna happen, overwhelming national interest at stake
