Steve: not hate mail just correction mail. The VP on CNBC did not say that INTC would not make its quarter but rather they were "ON TRACK" for the quarter as was annouced on the CC after earnings report last quarter. INTC annouced that they would have flat to slightly higher margins for this quarter not that they would miss the quarter entirely. If INTC pre-annouces and that is a big if after last quarter they will do this next Friday 12/12. Last quarter they choose to say nothing and allow their earnings to be posted lower than anticipated. I believe that with all the heat the new CEO took for that blunder it will not happen this quarter. Remember INTc like MSFT is sitting on a huge amount of cash and, give me a break, it can be accounted for in some rather cleaver ways to positively or negatively affect their earnings picture. Look at MSFT, they always meet or beat the hush numbers by a penny or two, wonder why? CREATIVE ACCOUNTING. I know that INTC must purchse a sizeable number of shares for employees bonus prior to years end and this could be why this rumor was started in the first place. IMHO, INTC will NOT miss the number this quarter but will not exceed it either. Next Q is the real winner for INTC.

My largest holding is in CPQ not INTC.
