By any reasonable definition Obama wasn't "viable" as a presidential candidate in 2005 -- and certainly, Obama is far less qualified for the office than Rand Paul is even today.

I think there should be a lot of support from both the Left and the Right for this guy. He's a Republican, but brings in a really good mix of Libertarian principles that are appealing to the intelligent voter.
