The US contributed greatly to have cheaper goods: Tech bubble over-produced a lot of technologies that allowed the African today to have wireless at a price they can afford.

The US is this big cow that the rest of the world milk for cheap technologies.

At Cold War's end, two thirds of all scientists and engineers worked for the defense related industries. Eplay could enlighten us on that.

increased the standard of living for hundreds of millions of humans in Africa too. Africans can now afford ceiling fans, air conditioners, refrigerators, generators to back up, clothing, motorcycles...

All thanks to the Chinese. To pay for all that, the Chinese come to Africa to help create the African purchase power. Overall this is good.
