There's some serious spin and omitted data there.

GDP has also doubled during that period. The NYT also didn't bother to talk about the increase in corporate debt, which has way more than doubled.

Then we have serious uncertainty about the longer term issues with GDP, etc. Corporations shouldn't have more cash to help with that? Huh?
