"Answer that and you'll quickly understand the very core of our healthcare problems is government intervention."

Really Dave? "Government intervention" is what causes one place to charge $400 and another to charge $1860 for the exact same service? Please explain how that works, in your twisted lunacy? Seems to me "Government intervention" would have them all charging the same, fair price.

What causes the price difference are the different places charging what the market will bear - market forces. Which is why my insulin costs half what it does here in India - not that the sellers don't make a profit THERE too! Market forces should really have no place in health care, IMO.

How many people do you know who ever challenged a doctor's "orders"??? The answer to these problems would be a single payer system...

When Govt steps in and starts paying $1800 for something that used to be $400, the new price is $1800, period. Govt drove up the price.
