Mr. pink employs his proprietary "z-model". You should start out be looking at the "enterprise value" market value(shares X Price) plus net debt (debt -cash). compare this to earnings before depreciation, interest and taxes (ebitd). 6x multiple is a good starting point but must be compared to similar companies and reflect growth prospects. Mr. p also looks at p/e p/book and many other measures. Try Graham and Dodd's Security Analysis for overview.
