that is a heck of a depletion rate...no doubt lots of oil there, and maybe some human creativity will find some ways to slow down the depletion rate, but yes seems like energy complacency or trade deficit complacency would not be appropriate.

still seems like nuclear is our only short term option if we dont find some substantial new supplies of hydrocarbons.
