Now, a published report indicates Olbermann’s inability to get another broadcasting job has been cited in a settlement the former host made with Current TV in connection with his $50 million lawsuit against the network. While terms of the settlement have not been disclosed, two sources familiar with the negotiations told Politico that during the mediation stage, Olbermann’s legal representatives cited his inability to get a job at another network, which was interpreted as an effort to gain sympathy for the TV host. “One of the cards his people played was hardship,” the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told journalist Dylan Byers of Politico. “He spent last fall talking to all the major networks, and he couldn’t get a job. $384,949 Federal Study Looks at 'Plasticity in Duck Penis Length' (CNSnews.com) - The National Science Foundation (NSF) has awarded a $384,949 grant to Yale University for a study on “Sexual Conflict, Social Behavior and the Evolution of Waterfowl Genitalia”, according to the recovery.govwebsite. The grant description says,“The project examines how reproductive morphology covaries with season, age, and social environment in a diverse sample of duck species that differ in ecology, territoriality and breeding system." The grant was made available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, better known as the stimulus package. The project has been receiving money from the NSF since 2009 and is slated for funding through July of this year. “In the last quarter, we have prepared a manuscript for submission on the results of the first two years of experiments on social phenotypic plasticity in duck penis length in Lesser Scaup and Ruddy Duck. Experiments continued on genital social phenotypic plasticity in Mandarin Duck and Laysan Teal,” a 2010 fourth quarter recovery.gov update on the study says. Many duck penises are cork-screw shaped and some scientists believe this is because of a form of evolution known as "sexual conflict". NSF spokeswoman Deborah Wing told CNSNews.com the updated title of the study is "Sexual Conflict, Social Behavior and Evolution." Wing says, "The study met the criteria of the NSF panel of scientific peers as part of the grant approval process." According to the NSF grant abstract the study shows that age, environment and breeding changes can impact the penis length of certain ducks, “Preliminary results of the project, suggest that male competition plays an important role in the evolution of waterfowl reproductive morphology, that male reproductive morphology is plastic depending on age and condition, and between species with different breeding systems.” "The NSF strives to be good stewards of taxpayers dollars," Wing says, "Basic research often is combined with other research efforts and turns into bigger things." "Government funded grants for research have assisted in creating the barcode and Google," Wing added. The NSF grant abstract states, “Broader impacts of the research will be international, national, local, and personal." Among those having a personal experience with the study are young minorities. “The project will incorporate high school students from under-represented minorities through the Yale University EVOLUTIONISTS program,” the NSF grant page says. According to Israeli’s Channel 2, the cause of the mishap was a simple error all motorists try to avoid. “The Americans filled it up with diesel, rather than [gasoline],” the channe quoted a source, which recently scored an interview with Obama, reported – in case there was any doubt that the host government wasn’t to blame. The Secret Service scrambled today to fly in a backup vehicle. The custom-made car — known as “the beast” — has thick armored plating and other security features. It’s likely there was another presidential limo in Jordan, where Obama is scheduled to visit Friday. “Secret Service will acknowledge that a vehicle broke down. That’s why we bring extra vehicles, mechanics etc.,” agency spokesman Brian Leary told the Post. The agency has denied that the wrong fuel was used but didn't elaborate about what led to the mishap. It was a stroke of bad luck for the carefully choreographed arrival here, which featured a walk down a red carpet and warm words from both sides. The car was photographed on a flat-bed tow truck. The car as drawn attention in the past for its thick steel doors and other evasive and defensive capabilities. This isn't the first mishap for the "rolling bunker." It got stuck on a ramp at the US Embassy in Ireland during Obama's 2011 visit.

Jackie Kendall, executive director of the Midwest Academy, was on the team that developed Camp Obama, a two-to-four day intensive course run in conjunction with Obama’s campaign. It trained volunteers to become activists to help Obama win the presidential election. WND also reported the Woods Fund, a nonprofit for which Obama served as a paid board director from 1999 to December 2002, provided capital to the Midwest Academy.
