Nope. We do NOT have a free market in health care. Free markets are characterized by increasing benefits at lower costs over time. In health care, we have decreasing benefits at higher cost. The reason is lack of competition and lack of transparency in pricing mechanisms.

Agree with you that people gaming the system is a big problem, along with runaway costs. The only solution that will bring viability is one that embraces free market tenets along with relentless transparency. Right now, we have neither.
