On Tuesday, ten years after the United States invaded Iraq, George W. Bush's Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld created a firestorm on Twitter after he said in a Tweet that our country has been working this past decade "liberating 25 mil Iraqis." It is quite terrifying that Rumsfeld believes the war brought freedom to a Iraq — a country that has been torn apart by our occupation.

Hundreds of thousands, if not more Iraqis have died. More than 4,000 U.S. soldiers are dead and many more are maimed. And just yesterday, on the tenth anniversary of our invasion, 56 people died in Iraq after dozens of bombs went off in the city. When will the American exceptionalism ideology end?
