What does all that mean? We are one of the most violent societies on earth and social science tells us if we take the guns away we won't be so violent. The gun laws should have nothing to do with whether you like to shoot and or kill stuff? Do you need an assult weapon to go hunting with? Our guns laws are nuts, our violent society is nuts and our prison population is nuts, which means we are nuts! Personally, I don't get shooting or hunting at all? But I know about gun violence. <<"Is it a wise course of action?" Interesting question. I am an avid shooter. I fully support the Second Amendment. I would say leave it alone and we are all going to be fine. I truly think the US is starting to split along rural/suburban/urban lines. Guns are suffering because we are looking for a one size fits all solution. The one size for me that fits is to leave the guns alone. There are hundreds of millions of guns. They will never be confiscated. The "bad guys" will always have access to them. They have no intention of following rule of law. I say let the people who wish to be armed, be armed.
