The weimar republic must of been a period of complete lawlessness and pandemonium. I dont think we can understand the context today. There was a whole generation of people who had suffered WW1 and the Spanish Flue. There was the injured from the war and mental Illness was widespread. People would have grasped as any semblance of order and unity, and it lead to an even worse state of affairs. WW2. and today we have Cypress. At least it isnt Sarajevo I suppose. uk.reuters.com
