Sonki, what do you mean by of course I have Merck? The way you buy and sell one can never be sure what you have left. gg. BTW, I wished I had bought more Merck a couple of days ago and Wells Fargo. It is so easy after the fact. gg.

I was asking the same question about Asnd when it was up over 2 dollars. I received an answer but had heard the story in the meantime. What do you think about this story? Could be a quick try to make some extra money. Even if it does not come to pass the co. has said it will have ok earnings.

I still have not read all those articles about Intel and Sunw again. Msft said today it is cancelling some kind of Java meeting.

Sonny

Sonki- Re: MRK, INTC, others

Have been out of town, returned from the coal regions of PA, the town of JIM THORPE, PA--Great history for those interested in how the town got its name, the Molly Mcguires of the 1800's for any history buffs. Anyway, recall when you asked me sev. mos. ago what my long-term pharm co would be- I said Merck w/o hesitation, felt Glaxo went as far as it can. Glad to see it do well. I ask all to look at (oh no) a biotech, U.S. Bioscience (UBS). Check out posts on it on SI- (Great summary of Ethyol on Dec. 6 by ChuckJ) which UBS and Alza are in together, WITH Bristol Myer Squibb; New FDA relax. rules, fast track approval, AMgen acknowleged it is fearful competitor to its drug, due to far less side effects. this chemo-protec. drug may really be ready for mass dist.- already ok in Europe. Risk/Reward is at right price. Your thoughts?
Believe in techs more and more for '98, am now a proud holder of AMAT, BAY- will buy more on dips. Your thoughts? Also believe Intc makes the move In Spring '98. Am considering converting IRA to Roth in Jan. if techs stay down ONLY because of attraction of major move in '98, tax free appreciation forever- but HATE to pay uncle Sam early. Will decide in next 4-5 wks.
OTOT BTW, have co-managed testamentary trust invested in REITS, tax-frees, and Utilities last few years, income/cap. apprecation have been great. Interest rates have been down, down, total returns 16% and more. No longer for widows/orphans.
OTOT comp.sci. Penn senior, NICE written offers from IBM, Unisys; to visit Sapient Tech. in Cambridge, MA, Trilogy in Austin, TX, And MSft in Wa., will then decide; 1st 2 jobs have nice signing $, fast track mngmt. positions in 3 yrs.-consulting is the wave.
Lastly, saw CEO of Marimba--when is it going public, what are its prospects valuation wise? THKS.

Regards, Royco
