Hi Jon -

Re: JCP Bonds - A possible value buy.

The Schwab Bond desk referred me to the finra.org service. Then go to the Market Data section to do bond inquiries. Here is what they list for JCP Bonds.

goo.gl

I believe several of these bonds (not necessarily JCP bonds) can provide a low risk/high return buying opportunity. This is amplified with the Fed's current QE program as long as rates remain low.

I plan to search the Finera database for possible value plays and will start w/ the JCP bonds. I created a watch list of five JCP bond from the 13 listed.

I like to look at how these have traded over the last 24 months looking at the yield to maturity "spikes". Then to trade w/ Schwab, you have to call their bond desk each day to place your order (no GTC orders), Sometimes, you are able to catch an offer w/ a higher than normal "yield to maturity" if/when some negative news hits the street. I also watch their preferred issues KYP & PFH for unusual activity. These are packaged 3rd party issues specifically for JCP that I do not want to own but rather provide a way for me to monitor the pricing of their debt daily.
