If I understand that proposal correctly, you wouldn't have to move there, but just store your gold there. If that's how it would work, then it could be a great way to store gold domestically. However... the two big ifs: Would they protect the gold of a non-Texas resident from US gov't confiscation attempt? And Texas *when* succeeds from the Union, would they confiscate gold from US Citizens? -g-

And he may have legislative support to do it. Freshman Rep. Giovanni Capriglione, R-Southlake, is carrying a bill that would establish the Texas Bullion Depository, a secure state-based bank to house $1 billion worth of gold bars owned by the University of Texas Investment Management Company, or UTIMCO, and currently stored by the Federal Reserve."

This is a real test for the Fed.
