Militias aren't a factor, haven't been for a couple of centuries. That is about the only justification for allowing certain classes of firearms. Target shooting, hunting and self-defense are about all that is left and none of them require semi-automatics.

Lanza fired 154 rounds in under 5 minutes. Why do you think we don't have the right to put some reasonable obstacles in the path of somone else doing the same? No other right is as unrestricted as some claim it is for firearms. That makes no sense at all...
