I don't think so. You cannot judge these matters by peering at the Fundies like Greg or ee who (although probably having no sincere faith at this point) will always pretend to so have because it furthers his selfishness in community and family and his exploitation of society. The truly superstitious and irrational are rather hopeless, but millions of people world-wide are moving to secularism. And this has a snowball effect. If I openly confess that sense and reason are my gods and if I openly live a lifestyle supporting compassionate and civilized morals rather than morals invented by primitive men to control their tribes and to exploit their fellows through terrorist threats (both in tribal life and the pretended life in the tortures of Hell thereafter), then this will impact others around me. It is very interesting, that simply educating people swings them from superstition to Reason. Amongst scientists, religious belief is very much in the minority. About 1/3 are atheists, 1/3 agnostics (which is really very much the same thing), and 1/3 believers in some force. The higher the educational and achievement levels, the less one finds belief in a superstitous ground to existence. In the Academy of scientists only about 5 in a hundred have any sincere personal belief. About 30% of my fellow Canadians are not superstitious at all, while almost half of those living in Vancouver, Canada are happy to accept reality just as it is! Superstition cannot survive in an atmosphere of sincere reasoning. Therefore, education is the enemy of superstition and in the end it will bring superstition entirely to her knees. The Greg or ees with their hysterical shrieking will continue to anchor their existence on human sacrifice (YIKES--HOW PRIMITIVE AND BARBARIC!!) and they will continue to drink the blood and eat the meat (symbolically one hopes!)--but they will be outcasts from the larger society."Well, my insistence of extraterrestrial activity here has gone even more unnoticed" Don't be too sure. There is nothing inherently ridiculous about extraterrestrials. It is not like talking donkeys or Noah's flood, or a 6000 year old earth! Unfortunately, modern photoshop and video skills make it easy for talented people to sully the alien question with an abundance of misinformation and outright fraud. It is sort of the way a modern warplane can throw out aluminum chaff to confuse the picture.
