Gangs are based on racism? GMAB. Why would a 14 yr old and 17 yr old walk up to a woman, ask for money, then threaten to kill her kid, then kill her kid? Poverty? The gun? Lack of Education? Why are the North side of St Louis and Chicago nothing but killing fields? Racism? No, they are gang activities that are outside anything socially, morally or ethically acceptable. These people know better and are choosing to kill each other. And what do you think leads to gangs and gang violence.........great wealth, equality, a bright future? Uh..uh. Wherever there is poverty and little hope of success in this world violence usually ensues.

We don't have a a lack of money, we have plenty of money it is just that the super rich have it all. The Republican's gave it to them. <<You really can't believe this.>> Republicans write tax laws that favor the rich. Plus they bust unions which favor the rich and destroys the unions and middle class. Many large corportions pay no taxes. Like Exxon and GE and apple has over 130 billion overseas. That should all be illegal. Not all have similar experiences and the statistics back that up.>> I was a single parent and raised in Richmond, Calif (the sixth most dangerous city in the US). My older daughter went to UC Berkeley and Loyola law and my younger daughter is a perennial science student working to attaint three different science degrees from univerisities in Oregon. Both were also raised with few rules, no discipline, and myriad pot smoking hippies living with us most of the time. They were allowed to watch anything they wanted and invited to debate the adults at all time as well as brought into all converstaions. The gang bangers who made it to the local community college, which were many, stopped being gang bangers and grew up to be good productive citizens. Get rid of racism, poverty and illiteracy and you will get rid of gangs! Period.
