November 26, 1997 ============================================================= Ipsilon Networks: Tagged Out ---------------------------- Ipsilon is being sold, to somebody. Candidate buyers include Cabletron Systems (makes good sense) or Ascend Communications, (less likely, but they have at least discussed the possibility). No word on the sale price yet. Although Ipsilon has not confirmed the sale, one source outside the company tells me Ipsilon started closing sales offices this week. Cabletron would make sense as the prospective buyer. They own a $20 million hunk of Ipsilon, and also have just acquired Digital's networking business. Hmm, and Digital was a key Ipsilon account, right?
