Oh dear, George!!! I think we perceive the Feelings thread very differently. I see it as a VERY long conversation, something which is dynamic, that has been going on unbroken since August of 1996, changing every time someone comes or goes from the thread, or is especially inspired, or writes beautifully, or gets in a very bad mood, and also when a new topic is introduced by someone. In fact, to the extent that I am able to influence what happens here, I have tried to keep this one of the very most GENERAL threads at SI, where anything goes and a large group of people can depend upon it for interesting reading and lurking, or a place they feel welcome to say something, or to check in when they have a problem. I want it especially to be sometimes serious and sometimes frivolous and always comfortable, because I think it would be boring if it were always the same.

Because it is mutable, anyone can change it!! I would have hoped that you could come here and start a new conversation. I particularly like poetry, and there was often poetry on this thread before there was a poetry thread at SI, so I see no reason to stop discussing it here. I especially don't understand your comment "I have no language with which to communicate with anyone on your thread." There are so many different personalities here it is hard for me to imagine that, or perhaps I really don't understand at all.

Maybe when I have more time, I will find a Montague poem that will please you (since you seem to like the ones that are very hard to understand). In any event, there are times you have communicated very well here, and I think that is also possible in the future, only if you want to, of course. Above all, this should be a place people can drop by when they are bored or lonely, and know someone who is concerned about them will respond to their post.

Please know you can always stop in, okay?
