Indeed. As I postulated here a week or two ago, cash assets are not nearly as "safe" as many in the EU thought. A college roommate who retired from the State Department and who currently lives in Paris and does what you and I do for income (investment/trading) told me most private citizens there do not own stocks these days.... The yield on the European stock index fund in my newsletter is far better than that of my US index funds and those are pretty good compared to USTs...

One reason I got so much into equities 20 years ago was my belief that income producing assets would be more valuable due to falling labor costs due to globalization mixed with what we now call "race to the bottom" via money printing by large central banks to allow their governments to spend more than they tax.
