All: Any comments on Rowan Cos. (RDC) and why it seems to be underperforming the rest of the sector over the past 2-4 wks? Down more on down days, up less on up days. Does anyone have numbers for stocks in this sector regarding how far off of peak highs we now are as of close today? Comments on whether or not to buy those stocks which have pulled by the most vs. buying those stocks that have weathered this pullback well (those which have pulled back the least)? Thanks.

BC. Holding RDC, but weary of recent negative price action. Unable to sustain any kind of rally, even on twice normal volume. Seems like heavy sales are continuing to come in on any rally.

Two positive articles this afternoon:

Even though Goldman cut oil stocks...the conclusion is for $18 oil in '98. This price should work for the drillers.

Iraq's approval was a given and already priced in. This was just a normal selloff after a huge bounce. Nothing more, nothing less
