If you took this problem in isolation, it would be manageable. But throw in the broke SS system, the broke Medicare system, the broke state Medicaid systems, the broke pension systems, the broke state and local governments, and it becomes apparent that 2020-2030 is going to be an awfully bad decade. Given the current "lost decade" we're in now, the outlook is awfully grim.

And our government is doing what failing governments do -- routine injections of anesthesia as the problems fester.
