"Functionally near identical" covers a lot of ground, Tim. So is a cannon, a musket and a RPG. The things the media and others refer to as an assault weapon is a very specialized device. It is all about killing the most people in the shortest amount of time as I detailed in my last post. We need to visit the whole idea of a semi-automatic rifle in civilian hands.

I agree, Tim. No reason for any rifle that isn't bolt action or equivalent.
