Willet,
Re -- I still am questioning why Andy sold this huge amount of stock prior to the ramp up in 1998?

A lot of it was donated to charity. Andy still has a large chunk of stock.

Fundamentals have shown us the buy is greater than the sell. So therefore the sell , IMO, is just a re-up of profits and diversication into other sectors including IT for the man. Not the company! I don't think Andy is going tell us either way and that 99' and 2000 just might be Intel's greatest years.

As for me...The next correction is my buy side indicator in microprocessor and fabs...then I wait it out as other battles are settled among telco's for infrastructure specs for digital wireless via satellite. Everything there is still very, very proprietary.

Best Wishes to all.

Williet, my prediction is this: if Intel is going to miss 4Q numbers, they will preannounce something this month. If there is no warning, i think they will at least hit the mean estimate. They'll do some creative accounting a-la microsoft if they have to get the extra penny or two, but they'll make sure they meet it. They don't wont to miss numbers 3 quarters in a row. imo
