>>>CNBC at 5:50 EST: Sources say LU offered $35/share a few weeks ago but that ASND is holding out for $40. <<<

You know what I find extremely interesting about this information? About 3 weeks ago, ASND began trading with apparent renewed interest -- the block trading came to life. The stock began trending up from 22 to as slightly below 26, and most of us assumed this was tied to options related trading before expiration in Nov. Perhaps the activity was also due in part to those fat cats "in the know" who began accumulating ASND shares in anticipation of a possible deal with LU. If LU indeed offered $35/share a few weeks ago, likely there would be a week or two while it was contemplated and/or counter offers/conditions were made.

All in all, this could help explain last month's activity. I remember thinking to myslef that it seemed premature for options-related trading to occur 2 1/2 weeks before expiration. Usually, it began a week prior.
