Tom thanks for the thoughts and the post, however, I have no current position in ZOOM, sold some time ago around 11-1/2 taking a small loss.

There won't be IMO much demand for the 56K modems until the ITU works out the basic standard and that may not happen until January. And it depends how that is written as to which companies will benefit most.

I am not sure how much stock the Mannings own, but, I think your idea of a take over or buy out has more merit or chance of happening than the stocking stuffing. <G>

I misunderstood you before about the upgrade. It would be good to see about the two kinds of upgrades, the hardware change and the code download. I'd be interested in hearing about what you had to do to order your upgrade, what's the cost, type, time frame, method and anything else.

Tom with today's 56K standard news and the way it's being recieved by the street Zoom may get a pop up in price, and some modems may get stuffed in stocking. But the word is 3Com is in the best position to profit from the new standard being worked out.
