Summary of a call to Bob Brinker about a Proposal to Cap Retirement Accounts

Is it me or does it seem like society is moving towards punishing people for not spending more than they make by taxing their Social Security if they have decent investment income while retired and now the talk to limit how much people can put away.

As I note in my comment for the article, I think it makes more sense to buy index funds rather than put too much into deferred IRAs once you get past matching dollars. Gain on index funds from dividends and capital gains get taxed at favorable rates while capital gains and dividends taken out of an IRA can come at the highest rates... AND they subject you to means testing which can tax your Social Security benefits and perhaps even more in the future. Am I missing something? Maybe I should ask Pete who is an expert in taxes....
