the unions don't want people educated I'm thinking the union leadership is an advance guard of a cabal interested only in power and dominion. The teachers are too often ditzy twits, themselves products of a deficient system, convinced they can shape a better world. In lieu of the three r's a lot of ignorant nonsense is implanted in tender innocents. There are no mechanisms to reward, emulate, and further develop educational competence. Old guardrails that once channeled the young seem to have been largely demolished. I'm thinking government education has been a prime factor in that tragedy. I once thought the home schooling movement might offer salvation. Now I don't know. The blob has grown too large and pervasive.
