[Seamans leave of absence]

Richard --

I was on the phone with RC and he asked if I'd heard the news. I hadn't and I'm still in shock. He doesn't know any more than what's in the press release. To his knowledge Seamans took very good care of his health --- exercised, ate sensibly, drank very little --- so it's a mystery what it might be.

It's certain Seamans has been under a great deal of stress.

I don't know him, but I certainly feel a weight of sadness hearing that he's ill. CEOs are mythical characters, supposedly invincible, and when they're not, you stop and wonder what went wrong.

I wish him well.

Pat

What a bummer to have your stock rise on such an announcement.
(Nasdaq: WSTL) announced today that its Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, Gary F. Seamans, is taking a temporary medical leave of absence.
