Thanks for the comparison table. But it's wrong on voice quality. Globalstar is best by far and if geostationary delay of Inmarsat is considered, Inmarsat is not worth using if there's an alternative.

GPS is irrelevant these days as people have GPS built into their Cyberphones along with all mod cons, bells and whistles. With a wireless link to the satellite device, people could use their regular Cyberphone instead of a satellite phone.

Globalstar's phone was designed early this century but that's all that's available until the next round of design. But for the purpose of making voice calls, if in coverage, then it's better than Iridium and much better than Inmarsat.

The satellite component just needs to be a modem transferring data from and to the Cyberphone a person normally uses, rather than a complete phone unit itself.
