Do you think LU will bid for WSTL, too, after they take over ASND?

steve g,
if lucent is making a bid then why own livingston? this from press release:

Lucent declined to comment, saying it does not comment on
market rumors or speculation as a company policy.
A Lucent spokesman, however, pointed out that Lucent has
already announced an acquisition in the data networking arena
-- privately held Livingston Enterprises Inc.

SteveG: Lucent has to wait until April to use the pooling of interests accounting method. Lucent purchased Livingston for 650 million in cash to fill their RAS void. $6 billion is expensive for ASND... until later.
