Hi Taro; Re generation numbers being 32 or 33 years in your family tree.

I've no doubt that's about right. Here's some science which says it's about 29 years now:
news.sciencemag.org

The Pocahontas chart I showed a while back had around 36 years for that particular line of descent. But when you're looking for a connection to someone that far back it's easier to use lines with high ages. (Or more generally, "your mileage may vary".)

I get 29 years from Queen Elizabeth, as descended from William I:
en.wikipedia.org

However, this is a descent mostly through the male line. Since marriages typically have men older than the women, a descent through the female line would have fewer years.

Descent through people who are less healthy than the kings and queens of England would also presumably be somewhat shorter as they die younger. Modern numbers are longer.

Of course none of this matters much in terms of figuring out the Indian blood content of "white" Americans. There's plenty of Indian blood to go around.

P.S. I think the wikipedia article is wrong but good luck to anyone correcting it. They kind of frown on individual research.
