It is not weird when those Californians who are employed make enough money to pay taxes to benefit other states, most of whom are GOP states. And CA is Obamacare ready, the only state to do so this early on. The unemployeds are the farm workers. In Silicon Valley and the biotech centers, jobs are going a begging because ther are no qualifieds. It is the state with the largest number of jobs that cannot be filled as well as displaced workers with obsoleted skills. It is the state with the highest number go H1B and J1 visas. We don't hire oil drillers. So when We look at CA unemployment, we look at it very differently that other states like the Dakotas, Carolina's, TX etc.
