While I was writing my post to you, I had a feeling that you would come back with this logic. But don't you think that whether it is engineering design or economic forecasts, we go through what-if scenarios when you go through the risk-assessment in pre-build phase. I presume the same is done when economic models are built around which forecasts are made. And these risk scenarios are multi dimensional in nature. And during risk assessments we need to indulge in critical thinking so as to eliminate future paranoia. Bernanke and Obama have worked through these well. Bush was incapable of working these scenarios with experts like Bernanke. Obama is not a recovering alcoholic. He still has a mind that is sharp and can reason and challenge Bernanke and his team of experts. I don't form my opinions on what the media folks have to say.
