There was a sizable short position in it. Most of the position was cleaned out today because there was a shift in its fundamental expectations. Usually one should ignore the short position. 90% of the time the short position correlates with price. The market, the defenders, held the offer high due to the possibility that more short covering would bury their artificial short position. Short covering allowed a ton of long selling.

Tomorrow price is likely to drop like a rock because the artificial demand has been removed. The uptrend is currently at 37 and rising. By the time we have a new moon in April I might have a starter position.

Musk announced a financing deal after the close that brings down the effective monthly cost to own an S to $500. No matter how I fiddle with this claim I find it hollow. It seems to be some kind of loss leader strategy. Why pull this stunt? The company doesn't need tricks to proceed at this stage. This was a bad move that surely will be punished.
