Well, I have never has such a nice entrance before! :)

I was going to start my tape reading thread over on another thread assoicated with the "Trading Desk" thread. However, perhaps a better idea would be to start it here. I think there is an already installed base of interested people here. Is this true? Can I get some sort of roll call on this either in the form of posts or e-mail to me? If the tape reading part starts to monopolize this thread, then I will consider moving it to another thread. In that case, I will still maintain an ongoing conversation here about what is being presented in the seperate tape reading thread, so we can continue to relate it to our more immediate needs.

I also want to do some tape reading studies. This is where we can see TA in action as it shows up in the price action of a stock that is described by the tape. Also, we can cover besides "normal" examples of tape reading the more hard to decipher tape action that can be found. We can also talk about how tape reading can suppliment TA in our selection of a stock, and the timing of our entry and exit.

I do want some expert here to help me, for I am learning about tape reading too. I have had some sucess in applying it to my option trades. Matter of fact, I could not have had sucess inl option trades without it. But I know there is allot for me to learn here. With your help here, and with one or two tape reading "experts" to help out, I think I can pull this one off. It should turn out to be interesting!

I do have a couple people in mind who are tape reading experts. One is Steve Goldman, and the other is a person who has the handle here on SI of "Judy". She tends to be good at picking industries and stocks in her option trades. She uses both the technicals and tape reading to make help her make calls on stocks and industries. Steve is not a technician, but he has allot of experience tape reading as a desk trader for a brokerage firm that he manages. Also, IMO tape readers are familliar with the some of the technical action on stock, whether they call what they see "technical" or not. For instance, I am sure they have seen resistance and support areas unfold on the tape. So if I am fortunate, I will be able to enlist them for help from the sidelines.
