>If you have to argue over what is "good deficit spending" vs. what is "bad deficit spending," you shouldn't complain AT ALL about "deficit spending" in general.

In what world does that make sense?

I believe that using a hammer to put nails into wood is a good use of a hammer, and that using it to bash in someone's head is a bad use of a hammer. Does that mean I shouldn't complain AT ALL when someone uses a hammer for the latter?

>Most conservatives did complain when Bush ran up the deficits to $400B/year.

Yeah right. Who was it that said that "Reagan proved that deficits don't matter"?

When Clinton left Bush with a surplus, the immediate discussion on the conservative side was that there shouldn't be a surplus because that meant the government was keeping people's money. Thus the tax cuts and refund checks.

>Not one liberal complained when Obama ran up the deficits to $1.2T/year.

In the same way no one blames a firefighter for a fire.

>It's that simple.

Tenchu's #1 rule of debating: Stating that that the case is closed closes the case.
