Sorry, I don't think I have a time to educate you on history by making posts on this thread. You'll need to do some reading on your own. Don't waste your time on that, though, if you can't do it with an open mind.

That's what we learned from all the info coming out of the former Soviet Union following the collapse. It was a house of cards that had been devoting 70% of it's GDP to defense for 40 years. It could well have collapsed under Carter. The moment was pure chance.
