How old were you during Carter's term Ten? Eight? All you've heard has come from your fellow right-wingnuts. Instead of history you pass along a right-wing joke.

Carter continued to maintain the US military and its policies with regards to Soviet during his presidency.
All of that was maintained in spite of Carter's actions and intentions.

I still maintain that if Carter got a second term, the demise of the Soviet Union would have been postponed by at least a decade.

Yeah, right. The Soviets would have kept things together with spit and glue until Reagan or another R took over the presidency.

BTW I have a great bridge to sell you. Rumor has it Reagan walked on it.

At least. And it is worth mentioning that we [Americans] did not generally have the foresight to know they were in that precarious of a position, certainly not in the early 80s.

This argument that Reagan didn't bring it about is just bull. During the '80 election, one of the hottest topics was nuclear proliferation. No one was saying then, "Oh, just wait a little while, they'll collapse under their own weight."
