Company Press Release

CRL is First National ISP to Run Traffic on Qwest's
Network Between San Francisco and Denver

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 5, 1997--CRL announced today that it has signed an
agreement with Qwest Communications International (NASDAQ:QWST - news) to utilize capacity on
Qwest's newly constructed national fiber optic network.

CRL is the first national Internet backbone provider to run production traffic across the recently
completed portion of Qwest's network that runs between San Francisco and Denver. Qwest's mission
to deliver high-speed broadband capacity for next generation networking parallels CRL's mission to
provide a fast and reliable network for business communications. As CRL expands from an ISP to a
full service, data communications company, this agreement will provide CRL with the necessary
resources to provide multiple options and opportunities for its customers seeking reliable and secure
connections between their wide area networks.

''Qwest has built a state of the art network that is exactly what we need to shift from solely an Internet
company to tomorrow's data networking company,'' said Phil Burkhart, vice president and general
manager of CRL. ''Agreements such as this enable us to expand our product base to meet the high
speed communications needs that businesses are looking for.''

CRL Network Services, a first-tier Network Service Provider, provides wide area network services
and high-speed Internet services to other ISPs, corporations, and universities. CRL owns and operates
a nationwide ATM-switched network. Some of CRL's network solutions include private managed
frame relay, co-location, Internet, and private line. The CRL Network Operations Center operates 24

Francisco, CA. For more information about CRL Network Services, please call 1-800/CRL-7557, or
