Re -- Michael Dell and his grin..

Yup, it has a lot to do with it. Mr Pfieffer (compaq CEO) on the other hand does not do so well. (Check the P/E's of the respective stocks)
Market sentiment, is a funny thing (and very difficult to manage) when a grin can make a stock go up.

Re -- Letting Analysts call the shots.

In defense of Kurlack, He hasn't changed his long term rating on the stock. However in "trading" and "sentiment" terms a long view does not matter.
