However it will still be listed as an available download. Don't know if there is a way to clear that.
Probably at that point there's a plist file somewhere that can be edited to get rid of it.

OK, at the top of the screen on the right there is a down arrow. It will open a downloads window where items can be paused or cancelled. To cancel, select the item and slap delete key.

I've done this, and for most downloads it works. The download is cancelled and does not reappear.
But for this one app, it doesn't work. Despite deleting the download (numerous times) it always seems to reappear when I begin other downloads.
