They've been willing to do those things since Nixon, who was forced to resign for doing them because he got caught, and well before. They are a party that believes any means of obtaining power is justified. They don't really believe in democracy, because in fair elections, the people never choose them. Back then, I think Nixon was more the exception rather than the rule. But Nixon is the rule now.....that's for sure.
