GFR Fan: The problem with asic based solutions is that changes are difficult to implement and expensive versus cpu based solutions. If it is engineered correctly it is a wonderful thing, however the current generation of cb5000's are still showing some bugs like the version 5.10 firmware!! As a CCIE I know what layer3 stuff is all about and their are many more schemes than you mentioned unfortunatly. I do not agree with all of your comments about the RSM especially with the new software. Being as we are a coms and csco shop I will let you know of anything I think might affect stock prices. regards n.p.
