I used to daytrade for 4 years when I lived in New York and had (still have) some friends who were (are) professional traders. They actually convinced me to stop daytrading even if I had some success. They told me - "don't be Bruce Willis. In the real world - it's high mortality occupation". Now I am a swing trader. I am long in gold and short the market (though I am in and out - be nimble and never fight the FED). First I bought gold when it was $350. Later sold everything (20% below the top). Got spooked by the meteoric rise. Bought some gold recently at $1575 and $1550. Will buy more on the dips. It is a long term play.
