They won't get 2 bil, but they might get something. Perhaps 25 - 200 mil to go away.

If a shrimp boat gets money for not being able to go shrimping in the Gulf, that's not really a different legal theory than an oil company asking for money because they couldn't go drilling in the Gulf. You say the govt shut the Gulf down - not BP. I could use the same argument and say that the govt probably stopped the shrimp boat from shrimping for longer than was necessary also. No doubt the boat got payed for all the time they couldn't fish.

ATPG didn't lose any reserves and that is different than a shrimp boat, but there is a time value for not being able to develop leases and pay overhead.
