I think I forgot to mention this: Mr. Loewen, after the failed SRV takeover attempt, had his buddies in British Columbia re-write some laws to make it even harder for LWN to be taken over by an unfriendly suitor. (Incidentally, Mr. Loewen had at one time been a member of Canada's parliament.) The best information one can find about LWN is to read the Canadian financial press. Check your local libraries. There is usually ten articles for every one in the U.S. publications it seems. Also, Standard & Poors now has Loewen on a list of stocks as potential takeover candidates. It mentioned SRV would be interested if the deal can be done on "friendly" terms. John
