Agreed.

Open URL (and Copy Link) which is a choice in Safari in OS X when you 2-finger tap, goes to the shortcut URL. If you are writing with references, as in footnotes, the former footnotes no longer display the URL you intended, but if the document is online and clickable, it still goes where intended.

Clicking Raw Text when on SI shows the full URL.
